Peace Table

On International Peace Day, we welcome you to take a seat at Leuven's longest peace table. Together, we will create a meaningful moment of peace.

Peace begins with small gestures of connection. By seating at the table together on this meaningful day, we take a modest but powerful step towards a more peaceful society. We welcome people of all backgrounds and faiths to meet and connect. By eating together and sharing stories, we work towards a culture of peace and tolerance.

You will enjoy delicious food surrounded by activities such as an inspiring photo exhibition, atmospheric musical accompaniment and, of course, the sounds of the peace carillon. You will also get the chance to share your own peace message on our special peace tree.

We warmly invite you to bring friends, family or neighbours and share this moment together. Will you join us for peace?

  • When: Sunday, 21 September, from 12 to 4 pm
  • Where:
    • Weather permitting in the abbot's garden at the entrance to Museum PARCUM
    • Rain permitting, it will continue in the Tithe Barn
  • Food and drinks:
    • Bring something to eat and share it with the other guests at the table.
    • Didn’t manage to bring anything? You can still join by giving a voluntary contribution.
    • Drinks will be available at democratic prices.
  • Registration: Everyone welcome, no need to register

The peace table is an initiative of Grenzen Bewegen Leuven in cooperation with the Peace Movement Leuven, Museum PARCUM and Park Abbey.
