Alamire Foundation
International hub for the study of music in the Low Countries
Since its foundation, Leuven has been the home for the renowned Alamire Foundation, which plays a pioneering role in research into music from the Low Countries. Indeed, the core of the research group is linked to the Musicology department of KU Leuven.
On the abbey site, the Alamire Foundation’s House of Polyphony serves as an international meeting place where research and musical practice come together. In their projects, polyphony and Gregorian repertoire seamlessly come together.
Exhibitions and concerts
In the House of Polyphony, this music is also made accessible for the public. After all, where better can this be done than at an abbey site dedicated to spirituality and religious art? Sometimes exhibitions and concerts are organised here. You can find these in our activity calender!
