Threading Landscapes

Artists explore the genius loci of Park Abbey: the spirit and unique character of this place. They investigate how a landscape comes into being, changes and acquires meaning, and which stories are embedded within it.

That spirit resides not only in the abbey’s centuries-old architecture. People, nature, memories, rituals and forms of care also give the place meaning. A landscape is more than what you see: it is a living network of relationships between past, present and future. Some connections are visible, while others only reveal themselves when we learn to look differently.

For centuries, Park Abbey was a beating heart, guided by three principles: Contemplatio, Localitas and Actio — contemplation, attention to place and action. Drawing on these three concepts, contemporary artists explore new perspectives on the abbey and its surroundings. What can we learn from this place today? And how can we work together to build a future in which care, imagination and connectedness are central?

Four internationally renowned curators join forces to shape this exhibition: Daniel Feldman, Katya García-Antón, María Inés Rodríguez and Ana Sokoloff.
